How to Use Mnemonics
In order to use mnemonics:
- Think of what you want to memorize.
- Create a mnemonic for that subject.
For example, imagine you are trying to memorize the strings of a violin.
Concept to Memorize 1:
GDAE
Mnemonic 1:
Good dogs are easy
If you can remember that good dogs are easy to take care of, you can just as easily remember the strings are G, D, A, and E.
For a second example, consider the order of taxa, or groups of organisms, in biology.
Concept to Memorize 2:
Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species

Dear King Philip Come Over For Good Spaghetti

When to Use Mnemonics
Mnemonics can be used to remember a wide range of things. They can be used to remember scientific and mathematical equations, rules, theories, and cycles. They can be used to remember English rules of grammar and spelling. They can be used to remember concepts of all number of subjects being taught today. If you struggle with remembering something, there is a mnemonic to be found or made.
